Google has branched out (or more accurately, built up) yet again. Simon Hampton, Director of European Policy and Public Affairs, announced today that the search giant’s established a Googleplex in Brussels, Belgium.
Hampton explained on the European Public Policy Blog, “Until now, our small policy team in Brussels worked from temporary abodes. From now on, you can find us at Chausse d’Etterbeek 180 1040 Bruxelles, right in the heart of the European quarter.”

Strikeforce (UFC’s closest competitor here in the U.S.) promotes one of the bigger fights of the year tomorrow in Fedor vs. Brett Rogers. It takes place in Chicago, which explains why EA Sports just held a press conference there to reveal more details of its upcoming MMA game, entitled EA Sports MMA. EA Sports says that Strikeforce will be the “premier” mixed martial arts league in the game, and that well-known referee “Big” John McCarthy will be in the game.

In July we posted the teaser trailer for Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s Despicable Me, a computer animated film about a trio of orphan girls cause the normally deplorable Gru to rethink his plan to steal the moon. The trailer mostly focused on a world which has had famous landmarks stolen and completely replaced by giant blow-up replicas. Wendy’s has a new interactive campaign called Real Time based around their Bacon Deluxe burger, and the quick-serve restaurant is relying on Facebook and Twitter users to spread the word about their latest bacon-centric offering.

The Facebook part of the ad campaign is accessible from a new “Bacon” tab on the Wendy’s fan page, and offers users a chance to proclaim their love for Bacon in their news feeds. To further spread word of the campaign, many of the items on theSource: Inside Facebook RSS Feed

It has been almost a year since we first started keeping track of the top 25 gaming applications on Facebook. In early December of last year, the top game was (Lil) Green Patch, with just over 6 million monthly active users. Today, Zynga’s FarmVille is in first place, with nearly 63 million monthly active users.

Electronista reports data from Net Application shows Windows’ marketshare dropped to 92.52 percent last month, while Mac OS X hit a new high with a marketshare of 5.27 percent. The third place goes to Linux with a marketshare of just 0.96 percent and the rest is split between mainly mobile operating systems. The site also notes that Windows 7 now represents 2.15 percent of the market.

Gadgets leaked by text are far less exciting than blurry, hurriedly-snapped photos, but we won’t turn up our noses at a preview no matter the method.  It now appears that Cowon have a touchscreen MID in the works, the Cowon W2, according to a test page at the Bluetooth SIG, though specifications are still scant.
